Payments

Your takings settle to your own account.

You are the merchant of record. Payments run through an account in your own business name and the funds settle directly to you, on your payment provider's schedule rather than ours.

  • You stay merchant of record

How people pay

Every way a sauna takes money.

Including the methods general booking tools tend to leave out: credit packs for regulars, and gift vouchers bought as presents.

Card

Visa, Mastercard and Amex, taken at the point of booking.

Apple Pay and Google Pay

One tap on a phone, which is where most sauna bookings happen.

Deposits

Part now, balance on the day. Standard for private hires and big groups.

Pay on arrival

Off by default. Turn it on per session type if your regulars expect it.

Gift vouchers

Sold as a code, redeemed against any session, balance carried forward.

Credit packs

Ten visits bought up front, drawn down automatically at checkout.

What it costs

Three numbers, all of them published.

The full cost of running Tigh Sauna, in three lines.

Licence
Fixed and published. Charged once, on signature, and never again.
Booking fee
3% of bookings processed, invoiced monthly.
Card processing
Charged by your payment provider at their published rate. Tigh Sauna adds nothing to it.

Why the booking fee is shown separately

A one-off licence and a continuing usage charge behave differently, and combining them into one number hides which is which. Every Tigh Sauna quotation shows the licence and the variable fees in separate places, so you can model what a busy month costs.

FAQ

Payment questions

Who is the merchant of record?
You are. Payments run through a payment account in your own business name, so the customer's statement shows your sauna, chargebacks come to you, and the funds settle directly to you. Tigh Sauna never holds your money.
What is the 3% booking fee?
Tigh Sauna charges 3% of the value of bookings processed through the platform, invoiced monthly in arrears and separately from the licence. Card processing is charged by your payment provider at their own published rates and is separate from anything Tigh Sauna charges.
Is the 3% included in the licence fee?
No. The licence is a one-off fixed line and the booking fee is a continuing variable one, so they appear in separate places on every quotation we issue. You can work out what a busy month costs before you sign.
How do refunds work?
Full or partial, from the booking record, in two taps. The seat goes back on sale immediately and the waitlist is notified if there is one.
What happens if a card is declined?
The held seat is released when the hold expires and goes back on sale, so an abandoned checkout never leaves a seat blocked in your schedule.
Do you store card numbers?
No. Card details go straight to the payment provider and never touch our servers. We store a payment reference and the amount, nothing more.
