How we list saunas

Where every fact comes from, and what the labels mean.

What we list

Public saunas you can book on their own, in all 32 counties of Ireland: sea, lake, river, forest, urban and mobile saunas. Saunas inside spas, hotels and gyms are mentioned in each county guide but not given their own pages, because you use them as part of a stay or a membership rather than book a session.

Where the facts come from

  • The venue's own website and booking page for prices, session lengths, opening hours, facilities and rules.
  • The venue's owner, through free owner verification.
  • Public records such as the Companies Registration Office, county councils and the National Monuments Service.

We do not copy ratings or reviews from Google or other review sites, and we do not reuse other directories' listings. Every page lists its sources and the date its facts were checked.

What the labels mean

Desk-researchedWritten from the venue's own published information and public records, checked on the date shown.
Owner-verifiedThe venue's owner has confirmed the facts on the page in writing, on the date shown.

How we compare saunas

County guides compare saunas on the same facts: price, session length, the cold plunge, opening hours, facilities and how to book. Where a county has a handful of very different saunas, we explain which suits what rather than rank them. Where we do rank, the criteria and weights are published on the page.

Prices

Prices are per person and are read from the venue's booking page on the date shown. Venues in the six northern counties are shown in sterling. Prices change, so the venue's own booking page is always the final word.

Photos

Venue photos and video are used with the venue's permission and credited on the page.
